Hindi (HIN) course sequence
For-credit courses follow a two-semester sequence so that students may complete all elementary courses within one academic year.
Fall courses
HIN 101
Novice Mid
The first part of the introductory sequence. Students acquire Novice Mid-level proficiency in the interpersonal, interpretive and presentational modes and begin to explore the cultural perspectives, products and practices of Hindi speakers.
Spring courses
HIN 102
Novice High
The second part of the introductory sequence. Students reinforce Novice Mid proficiency and acquire Novice High competence across the three communicative modes while continuing to explore the cultures of Hindi speakers.
