English Tests Available through FLI

The FLI offers two Cambridge English tests to measure your English proficiency — one taken in person, one you can take online from almost anywhere.

Both tests are produced by Cambridge English and report results against the internationally recognized CEFR proficiency scale. Choose the format that fits how and where you need to test.

Linguaskill

 

Linguaskill is a globally recognised Cambridge English exam that certifies a learner's English level — a full certification, not just a placement test. Powered by AI and computer-adaptive technology, it delivers fast, accurate results from B1 to C2 on the CEFR scale. The exam is modular, so you can test any combination of speaking, writing, reading and listening, and every test taker receives a certificate and in-depth score report. Can be taken in person at the FLI or online (online not available in mainland China); a Linguaskill Business version for workplace English is also available.

Cambridge English Skills Test (CEST)
The Cambridge English Skills Test is an online, on-demand, modular test of all four English skills — Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening — that can be taken in person at the FLI or online (online not available in mainland China). It helps institutions make confident decisions about learners quickly, reporting results from A1 to C1 on the CEFR (80–180 on the Cambridge English Scale). Three versions are available: for schools, general English and workplace English.
